Snell & Wilmer Partner Rebecca A. Winterscheidt Selected for Outstanding Achievement Award by Arizona State Bar Employment & Labor Law Section

PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Partner Rebecca A. Winterscheidt was recently awarded with the State Bar of Arizona Employment & Labor Law Section’s Rogers/Hayden Outstanding Achievement Award.

This annual award recognizes an attorney’s outstanding achievements and contributions to the field of labor and employment law in Arizona. The award is named, in part, after Snell & Wilmer attorney William R. Hayden

Winterscheidt has been widely recognized for her efforts in the labor, employment, and immigration law areas including by The Best Lawyers in America®, Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business®, Southwest Super Lawyers, and AZ Business Leaders. 

The mission of the Employment & Labor Law Section is to enhance the quality of practice in labor and employment law to substantively, and ethically provide representation to clients while providing a personally and professionally satisfying experience for practitioners in this area of law. Its focus covers the complex fields of employment law, discrimination, employee relations and traditional labor law. The Section provides regular monthly educational programs, an annual seminar and outreach programs.

Winterscheidt has been practicing employment law and immigration law for over 40 years. She is a former co-chair of the firm's Labor and Employment Section and heads the firm's Immigration Practice. Winterscheidt regularly advises employers concerning employment discrimination, wrongful discharge, disability and family leave issues, breach of contract, whistleblowing, and non-solicitation matters. In her immigration law practice, Winterscheidt represents clients in obtaining all types of non-immigrant work visas for foreign workers in the United States and handles investment visas for foreign companies & individuals. Winterscheidt also handles the green card process for employment & family-based petitions as well as counsels companies on immigration “best practices” and handles I-9 audits and other compliance and worksite enforcement issues.

Winterscheidt is active within the American Bar Association as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, member of the Labor and Employment Law Section, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. She serves as a private mediator of employment disputes and has served as a volunteer mediator for the Arizona Civil Rights Commission. Winterscheidt is also a frequent speaker and trainer in numerous areas of personnel law including harassment, ADA, FMLA, layoffs, supervisor and manager leadership training and terminations.
