Biography

Known as a connector both within and beyond the firm, Keith Gregory brings his passion for running to various races, including the firm’s Hood to Coast Relay team, where he builds meaningful relationships with others. As a true connector, Keith is a rare breed because he actually takes the time to listen to his clients so he can fully understand their business, objectives and needs.

With over 35 years of experience, Keith is a member of the firm’s Litigation, Investigations, and Trial Practice Group in California. He regularly handles cases in the areas of general business, real estate, and partnership disputes. Keith also serves as an outside ethics compliance officer for companies, and has considerable background in litigating government debarment proceedings, licensing agreements, trade secret matters, and Uniform Commercial Code issues, especially for distributors and manufacturers within the electronic components, computer hardware and semi-conductor industries.

In addition to serving his clients, Keith focuses on serving his peers and his community. Keith is co-chair of Snell & Wilmer’s First-Gen Forward program and has been selected as a member of the firm’s COACH Hall of Fame for his dedication and efforts to support and develop lawyers through mentorship, professional development opportunities and access to resources and trainings designed to promote and advance first-generation professionals. Within the legal community, Keith has been named a Legal Visionary and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Visionary by the Los Angeles Times, frequently speaking on DEI panels.

  • Served as lead trial counsel for a franchisor that was sued by its first franchisee for breach of contract, California franchise law violations, intentional misrepresentation, negligent misrepresentation, concealment, and unfair competition. After two weeks of trial, the jury found entirely in favor of the defendant franchisor. The jury also found that the franchisee had breached the franchise agreement by failing to pay royalties and to pay back advances made to it by the franchisor and awarded damages to the franchisor
  • Structured the financial terms of an independent distributor’s contract, which resulted in more than a 50% increase in profits on a single transaction
  • Litigated a trade secrets case on behalf of an employer whose former salesperson solicited a number of the company’s long-term customers and suppliers. Successfully obtained a temporary restraining order and negotiated a settlement, resulting in the salesperson agreeing to pay the employer’s attorneys’ fees and no longer contacting the company’s customers and suppliers
  • Retained by client company as trial counsel three months prior to start of jury trial in which plaintiff was seeking over $800,000 in alleged damages. At the conclusion of the six-day trial, the jury awarded the plaintiff approximately $70,000 – half of the $140,000 offer previously made by the client and less than one-tenth of what the plaintiff was seeking to recover
  • Defended various government contractors in proposed debarment and suspension proceedings in which it was established that the clients were deemed presently responsible contractors, and the debarment and suspension proceedings were dismissed
