Joe Adams represents clients in litigation, investigations, and trials (LIT) with a focus on shareholder disputes and employee benefits matters.
He has broad experience in securities and shareholder litigation, corporate governance matters, partnership and LLC disputes, Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) litigation, and trademark infringement and unfair competition. His clients include public companies, start-ups and emerging companies, officers and directors, shareholders and owners of companies, and individuals. Joe serves as the chair of the firm’s Securities and Shareholder Litigation Practice Group.
Joe conducts investigations regarding financial restatements, accounting issues, and instances of alleged wrongdoing raised by whistleblowers. He frequently represents clients facing investigations or requests from regulatory agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Department of Labor (DOL), and state agencies. He also advises clients on compliance issues and works to resolve issues before they turn into major problems.
Earlier in his career, he practiced intellectual property litigation at a large Silicon Valley law firm.
