Creighton Dixon primarily advises clients in three areas: construction law, water law, and commercial litigation.

His construction practice includes advising owners and contractors as it relates to contract negotiations, licensing concerns with Arizona’s Registrar of Contractors (ROC), the Prompt Pay Act, and disputes between the parties, including mechanics’ and materialmen’s liens.

His water practice includes helping clients in various industries, ranging from developers to mines, with issues relating to water rights, supply, and transfer.

Finally, he advises clients with their commercial litigation concerns. This includes representing clients during pretrial litigation (for example, during depositions and motion practice) and through trial. He also advises clients through alternative dispute resolution procedures, such as mediation or binding arbitration.

Advised owner on construction law issues relating to construction of approximately $1 billion semiconductor manufacturing facility and related projects. Worked directly with business and construction teams on issues including COVID-19, delay claims, and payment terms, as well as providing training on contract interpretation and enforcement
Advised general contractor during dispute with its subcontractor over subcontractor’s installation of parking lot surfacing
Advised charter school owner in dispute with general contractor over workmanship concerns
Defended car manufacturer in trial against consumer warranty claim
Advised client on contractor licensure issues related to acquisition of Arizona company
Advised a national grocery chain on contractor licensure issues in connection with an acquisition transaction
