Insurance and Licensure

Client and Industry Challenges

Insurance providers and policyholders face a range of coverage-related issues that can be straightforward or intricately nuanced. Insurance companies may need counsel for bad faith suits, insurance fraud, policy development, corporate transactions, brokerage disputes, regulatory complaints, declaratory judgment actions and bankruptcy proceedings. Likewise, businesses and individuals may need assistance with insurance policy interpretation, coverage analysis, bad faith claims or coverage disputes.

Snell & Wilmer’s insurance group has extensive experience in addressing the various needs of both insurance companies and the insured. We utilize the resources of our large firm to offer our clients cost-efficient and effective representation for their insurance-related concerns.

Clients We Serve

Our insurance attorneys have represented providers, policyholders, re-insurers, brokers and agents. We strive to protect our clients from costly litigation whenever possible, but when litigation is necessary, our attorneys are prepared to vigorously defend our clients. Our litigators have extensive experience with both bench and jury trials in the defense of insurance coverage, insurance fraud, and bad-faith litigation as well as in personal and commercial insurance claims. We regularly assist insurance carriers with personal and commercial lines, professional liability, fidelity, director and officer liability, commercial property, inland marine, and excess and surplus lines. We have also defended insurance companies in class action cases, multi-jurisdictional litigation and general commercial litigation cases.

Our group has provided comprehensive liability defense work for covered claims to leading national commercial property, liability, and fidelity/surety insurance companies on matters involving negligence claims, including automobile, trucks, and commercial vehicles, and premises liability; professional liability, including medical, legal, accounting and agent/broker malpractice; property damage, including fire (cause and origin), and general property damage and construction defect; product liability representation in cases in the medical and pharmacological industry; and product liability cases representing chemical and industrial manufacturing: including aircraft control systems, medical devices, firearms, industrial and construction equipment, electronics, power tools and liquid propane equipment.

For the insured, Snell & Wilmer has litigated coverage disputes, insurance fraud and bad faith claims, and otherwise protected the interests of policyholders.  We also counsel our clients to understand their policies and ensure they are adequately protected with sufficient insurance coverage.
