The Federal Safe Harbors for Donations of EHR Systems and Implications Under Arizona Law
As we previously discussed, the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) authorized the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide up to $17 billion in financial incentives for eligible professionals and hospitals that become "meaningful users" of certified electronic health records (EHR). We continue to believe that these incentives will be a major factor in the strategic planning decisions of health care providers in the future.
