Biography

Julie Peng is counsel in the firm’s Natural Resources Practice Group. She advises clients on environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, regulatory matters, and environmental risk. Her practice includes regulatory compliance and enforcement, transactional due diligence, sustainability reporting, supply chain requirements, and environmental matters involving batteries and renewable energy.

Prior to joining the firm, Julie served as Assistant General Counsel of Environmental and Sustainability at Lucid Motors where she led environmental and battery regulatory affairs and compliance. In that capacity, she managed the company’s implementation of the EU Batteries Regulation, sustainability reporting, and battery extended producer responsibility (EPR) obligations. Earlier in her career, she practiced in the Environmental, Health, and Safety Group at King & Spalding LLP and advised global automotive manufacturers on the implementation of federal consent decrees resolving emissions-related violations.

She holds a J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and an A.B. in Genetics, Cell, and Developmental Biology from Dartmouth College. She is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
