Biography
Derek Pershing is a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. He represents institutional investors, developers, private equity sponsors, lenders, owners, operators and other market participants in complex commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, joint ventures, financings, and other real estate matters. His experience spans a wide range of commercial real estate projects, including industrial, multifamily, self-storage, retail, office, build-to-rent community developments, and master-planned community developments.
Derek advises clients throughout the lifecycle of real estate transactions, from due diligence, capital structuring and negotiation, and through closing. His practice includes negotiating purchase and sale agreements, leases, easements, declarations and restrictions, loan documents, as well as advising on title, survey, land use, and other development matters. Derek is Board Certified in Commercial Real Estate Law, Farm and Ranch Real Estate Law, and Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction recognizing Texas attorneys who have demonstrated substantial experience and specialized competence.
