Carina S. Arellano is an associate in the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Her practice focuses on technology transactions, intellectual property, data protection and privacy, and government contracts. She advises companies on the legal and commercial considerations involved in developing, acquiring, licensing, commercializing, and protecting technology and intellectual property.
Carina represents clients in a range of transactional matters, including technology licensing and commercialization, SaaS and software agreements, development and collaboration arrangements, intellectual property transactions, and other commercial agreements. She advises clients on privacy and data compliance, including data lifecycle practices and external-facing policies and terms, as well as intellectual property considerations in mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions, and counsels government contractors in connection with prime and subcontractor agreements.
Carina has experience working with clients across a variety of industries, including life sciences, agricultural technology, software, and data-driven businesses.
Carina earned her J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where she received a certificate in Law, Science, and Technology with focus areas in Life Sciences and Data, Privacy, and Security. She earned her B.A. in Gender, Sexuality, and Feminist Studies from Duke University, with minors in Global Health and Philosophy.
