Snell & Wilmer Partner Marian Zapata-Rossa Selected As Exemplary Service Award Recipient by the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association

PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to share that Phoenix Partner Marian Zapata-Rossa was selected by the Los Abogados Hispanic Bar Association as the 2023 Exemplary Service Award recipient.

Zapata-Rossa has dedicated years of service to advancing the mission of Los Abogados. She currently serves as the President of the Los Abogados Foundation, and previously served on the Los Abogados Association Board, including as the Association’s treasurer and vice-president. Zapata-Rossa was previously awarded Los Abogados’ Emerging Leader Award. In addition to her work with Los Abogados, Zapata-Rossa serves as mentor attorney with the Latina Mentoring Project, as commissioner of the American Bar Associations’ Commission on Hispanic Legal Rights and Responsibilities, on the Board of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and is co-chair of Snell & Wilmer’s Committee on Diversity Equity, and Inclusion. 

Zapata-Rossa will be honored for the award during Los Abogado’s 46th Annual Gala on October 21, 2023.

Los Abogados is Arizona's Hispanic Bar Association. Founded in 1976 and incorporated in 1988, members of Los Abogados include private and public attorneys, judges, businesspeople, paralegals, and law students. Members practice throughout Arizona and presently serve as officers and directors of county, state, and federal bar associations. The mission of Los Abogados is to develop, empower, and support the Latino community through the advancement of the legal profession.

In her legal practice, Zapata-Rossa is a labor and employment attorney that defends employers against discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, and represents employers in disputes involving employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and non-compete agreements. She litigates both single plaintiff and class action employment lawsuits, including wage and hour, and helps employers resolve administrative matters before numerous state and federal government agencies. Zapata-Rossa also conducts workplace investigations and training, and advises employers on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship with a focus on providing clients business-oriented solutions to identify and mitigate risk and support diversity and inclusion.
