PHOENIX (July 13, 2023) – Snell & Wilmer’s Phoenix Partner Eric H. Spencer has been elected to a two-year term to the Board of Directors of Veterans Heritage Project. Spencer is himself a veteran, having served a 12-month combat deployment as an infantry officer in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Founded in 1998 by teacher Barbara Hatch after one of her students asked her if the movie Saving Private Ryan was a true story, Veterans Heritage Project aims to connect students with veterans with the goal of honoring veterans, preserving U.S. heritage, and developing future leaders. In the last 25 years, over 56,500 students have been impacted by the program through civic education, as well as building the students' communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

Spencer's practice is concentrated in special litigation and compliance with an emphasis in election law, campaign finance, public policy and government relations. He is deeply experienced in election-related litigation and appellate matters before state and federal courts and agencies. Spencer regularly advises candidates, consultants, lobbyists, political action committees (PACs), ballot measure and independent expenditure committees, political parties, municipalities, corporations, election-related vendors, trade associations and other tax-exempt organizations, and individual donors and political contributors. He advises on campaign finance compliance and reporting and handles complaints before the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Arizona Secretary of State’s office, Citizens Clean Elections Commission, and various local jurisdictions.
