Snell & Wilmer Partner Tony Caldwell Appointed Chair of State Bar of Arizona’s Technology Working Group
PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Partner Tony Caldwell has been appointed chair of the State Bar of Arizona’s Technology Working Group.
The State Bar of Arizona’s mission is to serve and protect the public with respect to the provision of legal services and access to justice. The Bar also works to improve the administration of justice and the competency, ethics, and professionalism of lawyers practicing in Arizona. As such, the Bar maintains a number of advisory groups charged with providing advice and recommendations concerning Bar policy and programs.
The Technology Working Group advises the State Bar of Arizona on how technology impacts the legal profession. The group acts as a sounding board for Bar programs, policies, and activities related to technology and is the primary body for consideration of technology issues affecting the practice of law and the members of the Bar.
“I am honored and excited to step into the role of chair for the State Bar of Arizona Technology Working Group, and I look forward to working with my fellow committee members, state bar leadership, and tech stakeholders to advance Arizona’s technology ecosystem,’’ said Caldwell.
Prior to his appointment as chair, Caldwell served the Technology Working Group as chair of its AI Ethics Subcommittee. He also serves on the board of directors for AZStRUT, a nonprofit that supports Arizona’s technical education and community efforts toward a more sustainable future. Caldwell also sits on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for the Arizona Bioindustry Association (AZBio), an organization focused on growing the state’s bioscience industry.
In his law practice, Caldwell helps clients navigate complex issues related to law and technology. His practice focuses on corporate, technology, and life sciences transactions, with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, licensing, manufacturing and supply chain, data privacy, and mergers and acquisitions. He advises clients on technology transactions across a wide range of industries, including apparel, automotives, aviation, banking, call centers, chemicals, defense, energy storage, life sciences, and real estate.
