This position requires an ability to learn quickly.  Experience working in an office and administrative skills are helpful.  Candidates must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.  Proven knowledge of Windows 2010 to include Word, Excel, pdf manipulation and Outlook is also required. 

Once trained, typical responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Performs administrative dues such as preparing check requests and travel reimbursements

Las Vegas Commercial Litigation Paralegal

The paralegal candidate must have a minimum of five years’ complex litigation experience.  Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ability to manage large litigation matters from inception through trial.  Must have at-trial experience and experience using trial presentation software.
  • Substantive knowledge of the litigation process and rules of procedure. 
  • Ability to manage large document collections using a database. 
  • Draft disclosures, discovery, and other legal documents for attorney review. Prepare exhibits for attorney use at depositions and as attachments to motions. Maintain witness files.
  • Experience with eDiscovery and eDiscovery review platforms is a must.

Legal Support Clerk – Assigned to a specific practice group

 

This position works under the direction of the assigned practice groups and legal administrative assistants.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Performs some or all of the duties of the Position I as required by the practice group
  2. Prepares new matter memos
  3. Performs basic word processing
  4. Compares documents utilizing the appropriate software
  5. Proofreads documents as assigned by the LAA (legal administrative assistant)
  6. Performs CLE registration
  7. Bills – basic processing, time entries and edits
  8. Performs entry-level LAA duties
  9. Utilizes naming conventions for cases and files in assigned drive

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Real Estate

  • Prepare closing checklists and coordinate the closing process for various commercial real estate transactions. 
  • Review and analysis of title and survey. 
  • Assist in preparation of CC&Rs and homeowners association documents and assist in handling related subdivision matters. 
  • Coordinate licensing and permitting matters including liquor licenses, tax licenses and operating permits.
  • Assist in preparation of various tax clearance applications, bulk transfer applications, tax exemption and reporting documents.
  • Coordinate due diligence for a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including, acquisitions and dispositions, borrowings, etc.
  • Review and summarize title commitments and surveys. Work closely with title companies to clear title and obtain title policies.
  • Order, review and summarize UCC, judgment, tax and other lien searches.
  • Prepare and file a variety of documents, including, deeds, mortgages, memoranda of leases, UCC financing statements, etc.
  • Prepare and distribute closing binders.
  • Assist with post-closing document control and follow up.
