Legal Alert: Consumer Product Safety Risk Management System Prepares for Launch
January 06, 2011
Consider how many consumer products that people use in everyday life. Most products used in or around a household or a school or in recreation qualify as consumer products that are regulated by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”). Now imagine anyone being able to sit at a computer and search a public, government-sponsored database for reports or complaints about each of those products.
As of March 11, 2011, that will be the new reality with the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s incident database. It will be a publicly-accessible and searchable electronic database.
