Legal Alert: President Obama Signs H.R. 4.
Earlier this year, we reported about (i) the provision in the 2010 Small Business Jobs Act, requiring an owner of rental real property to issue a Form 1099-MISC to each service provider paid at least $600 during the taxable year, and (ii) the requirement in the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010, that would have subjected payments of "amounts in consideration for property", "gross proceeds" and payments made to most corporations to information reporting requirements starting January 1, 2010. See the Legal Alert from January 20, 2011.
