Tanya Lewis focuses her practice on commercial litigation, emphasizing the financial services industry. She regularly represents major financial institutions in disputes involving federal and state consumer protection statutes, breach of contract issues and tort law claims and lender and servicer liability related to mortgage lending, loan servicing, foreclosure and credit issues. Tanya has experience defending financial institutions from claims involving fraud and misrepresentation, wrongful foreclosure, Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA).
Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, Tanya defended parties in personal injury and commercial litigation matters in Salt Lake City and also practiced family law. Prior to relocating to Utah, Tanya defended insurance companies and self-insured common carriers in insurance defense litigation for approximately five years at a regional firm in Las Vegas.
