Biography

Tracie E. Stender represents businesses, nonprofits and public agencies on employment, governance and operational matters, including permit compliance, drafting policies and procedures and negotiating contracts for management, professional and technical services. Tracie advises clients across a broad range of industries, including hospitality, education, healthcare, water and wastewater. Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, Tracie served as the Corporate Director of Compliance – Senior Counsel at JC Resorts.

Tracie focuses on counseling at all stages of the employment relationship, from recruitment through separation, union relations and auditing. She discreetly and expeditiously investigates highly confidential matters involving officer and employee misconduct, conflicts of interest, fraud and harassment. For disputes that cannot be resolved informally, Tracie litigates in state court and administrative proceedings, including before the Labor Commissioner and Public Employment Relations Board.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in political science from UC San Diego, Tracie pursued a legal career and obtained a law degree from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). Tracie graduated with cum laude honors and was recognized for delivering the best oral argument in Moot Court during law school.
