Ross Breyfogle’s legal practice is focused on patent protection and the intellectual property aspects of technology-related assessments, transactions, due diligence, and strategic counseling. His representations often involve effective interaction with a client’s other counsel in a team approach to maximize value to the client. Ross has experience working with startup companies through a full life cycle, including through funding rounds and acquisition. He also works with large, established businesses, venture capital groups, and research institutions, and he has experience with joint ventures/technology collaborations, government research and procurements, mergers, and reorganizations.
Ross has experience with a variety of technologies, including chemicals and chemical processing, metallurgy, batteries, fuel cells, polymers, drug delivery, micro- and nano-engineered materials, thin and thick film processes and applications, photovoltaics, micromachined devices, natural resources, alternative fuels, water treatment, medical devices, and software. He is well-versed in technology-focused agreements including licenses, joint development/technology collaboration agreements and research agreements, as well as intellectual property provisions of broader transactions and transactional due diligence.
Before joining Snell & Wilmer, Ross was a partner at a boutique IP law firm. Prior to practicing law, he gained seven years of engineering experience with Exxon Company, USA.
