Emily is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property group. Her professional focus includes providing IP counseling for developing and implementing strategies to protect and enforce intellectual property rights and drafting and prosecuting patent applications around the globe.
Emily counsels clients on intellectual property protection across a diverse range of technologies, including computer software and hardware, artificial intelligence, computer security, network systems, wireless communications and devices, telecommunications devices, Internet of Things (IoT), unified communications, contact center products, vehicle electronics and accessories, blockchain and smart contracts, autonomous vehicles, big data analytics, clean technologies, and carbon capture biomaterials.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Emily earned a degree in computer science, graduating cum laude from Boston University. Emily also worked as a developer at a healthcare software company, where she designed and developed essential software metrics and software-based registries and dashboards for healthcare professionals.
Emily graduated cum laude from the University of California, Irvine School of Law, where she was a member of the UCI Law Review. During her time at UC Irvine, she served as a research assistant for a former United Nations Special Rapporteur, focusing on research pertaining to international internet privacy rights and legal frameworks. Additionally, Emily has a strong interest in foreign languages and is proficient in Portuguese and Italian.
