Snell & Wilmer Partners Damon Ashcraft and John Dabney Recognized in World Trademark Review’s 2026 Global Leaders
PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that partners Damon Ashcraft and John Dabney have been selected for inclusion in the eighth edition of the World Trademark Review (WTR) Global Leaders guide.
According to the publication, the distinction identifies the world’s foremost trademark professionals, bringing together practitioners who are not only ranked among the leading experts in the WTR 1000 but who also demonstrate exceptional insight, leadership, and impact in the field of trademark law. Their inclusion reflects their dedication to helping clients protect, manage, and enforce valuable intellectual property assets in an increasingly complex global marketplace.
Ashcraft has been named a WTR Global Leader for three consecutive years, and Dabney has been recognized every year since the inaugural edition in 2019.
Ashcraft is a partner based in the Phoenix office. His trademark practice focuses on trademark protection online and internet governance issues. Ashcraft manages numerous trademark enforcement programs on an international scale. Further, he enforces and defends clients’ trademark rights before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in various federal and state courts. He is also an active leader within the International Trademark Association (INTA) and the Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC) of Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) which has a significant role in Internet governance. In 2025, Ashcraft was re-elected to ICANN’s Generic Names Supporting Organization’s (GNSO) council, to represent the Intellectual Property Constituency.
Dabney is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office. For over 25 years, he has devoted his practice almost exclusively to the representation of companies in trademark, trade dress, false advertising, and unfair competition litigation under the federal Lanham Act. Dabney has litigated Lanham Act cases in the federal courts in more than 25 different jurisdictions, and he has served as lead counsel in more than 100 federal court actions and in many cases before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. His clients include brand owners in a variety of industries, including food and beverage, medical devices, healthcare, sporting goods and resorts, household goods, financial services, and more.
