Snell & Wilmer Partner John W. Andrews Receives the Edward Clyde Distinguished Service Award
SALT LAKE CITY – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that John W. Andrews, a partner in the Salt Lake City office, has received the Edward Clyde Distinguished Service Award from the Energy, Natural Resource & Environmental Law (ENREL) Section of the Utah State Bar. This prestigious award recognizes attorneys for their significant contributions to the ENREL Section and to the practice of environmental law.
Andrews has almost 40 years of practice experience in public lands, real estate, mineral, water rights, environmental, and energy law matters. Before joining Snell & Wilmer in 2018, he was chief legal counsel and associate director for Utah’s state land management agency, where he provided legal representation and management for a 3.4-million-acre land portfolio. His current practice focuses on land and permitting issues associated with large energy projects, including geothermal, green hydrogen, solar, lithium extraction, and energy storage.
The ENREL Section of the Utah State Bar was created in 1977 to engage interested members of the Bar, along with participants from other state and local bar associations, in a collaborative forum focused on natural resources, oil and gas, mining, public lands, energy, Native American, water, and environmental law. Its purpose is to support members through continuing legal education, the exchange of ideas, the development of joint projects, and other initiatives that benefit its members, the legal profession, and the public.
