LOS ANGELES — Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Los Angeles Partner Douglas A. Thompson has been named to the Los Angeles Business Journal’s Top 100 Lawyers list. This list recognizes leading attorneys who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement, influence, and impact in their respective practice areas.
Thompson has more than 35 years of litigation experience, including over a decade of in-house corporate leadership and litigation management. He has represented financial institutions and businesses in complex regulatory, class action, and commercial litigation matters, successfully defending hundreds of cases in federal and state courts nationwide. His practice focuses on class action defense, complex commercial litigation, and regulatory investigations involving consumer finance, banking operations, and alleged financial fraud. His in-house background enables him to connect legal strategy with operational and business priorities.
Thompson’s leadership also extends well beyond his legal practice through sustained engagement in civic and nonprofit organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, is a Foundation Trustee of the United States Olympic & Paralympic Foundation and sits on the Harlem Lacrosse Los Angeles Advisory Board. Additionally, he collaborates annually with a global banking institution client on a Financial Institution Pro Bono Day of Service supporting guardianship clinics with Bet Tzedek. In recognition of his contributions, he has been named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Litigators in America for 2026 and has received multiple Los Angeles Times Visionary awards in banking, finance, and DEIA.
