Snell & Wilmer Partner Douglas Thompson Recognized as a Leader of Influence in Banking and Finance by the Los Angeles Business Journal

LOS ANGELES – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that partner Douglas A. Thompson has been recognized as a “2026 Leader of Influence: Banking and Finance” by the Los Angeles Business Journal.  This annual list recognizes outstanding banking and finance professionals in Los Angeles for their leadership, industry knowledge, professional achievements, and contributions to the regional business community.

With 35 years of experience, Thompson represents financial institutions and businesses in complex litigation, regulatory investigations, and risk management matters. He has extensive experience advising clients on banking and consumer financial services laws, including the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACTA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Electronic Funds Transfer Act (EFTA), and Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA). His practice also includes defending financial institutions in matters involving banking deposit operations, ACH and wire transfer fraud, business email compromise (BEC), Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) issues, and other complex commercial banking disputes. Throughout his career, Thompson has represented clients in more than 250 putative class actions, helping them navigate evolving regulatory and litigation risks with practical, business-focused solutions.

Thompson serves on Snell & Wilmer’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee and Pro Bono Committee, frequently working with clients to provide pro bono legal services. He is also active in the Los Angeles community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, as a Foundation Trustee for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Foundation, and as an Advisory Board Member for Harlem Lacrosse.
