Snell & Wilmer Attorneys Named 2026 “Top 100 Lawyers in Arizona” by AzBusiness Magazine
PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that attorneys Barbara J. Dawson, Adam E. Lang, Jody K. Pokorski, and Patricia Lee Refo were selected for inclusion in AzBusiness Magazine’s annual “Top 100 Lawyers in Arizona” list for 2026. Selections were made based on each lawyer’s professional success, client reviews, as well as their impact on the legal profession and communities they serve.
Barbara J. Dawson serves as the Firm’s Chair, supporting and advancing the growth and development of the firm’s practices across its seventeen office locations. She has served on the firm’s Executive Committee and three-person Compensation Committee for several years. Dawson has also led the firm’s Litigation, Investigations, and Trials Practice Group and its international industry group, focusing on internal investigations, complex litigation, and regulatory compliance. She has received broad recognition for both her business and legal skills in handling “bet the business” matters and large portfolios of litigation and investigation issues. Nationally, Dawson served as Chair of the American Bar Association’s Section of Litigation. Internationally, she served as Chair of the board of directors of Lex Mundi, a global affiliation of 160+ independent law firms located in 100+ countries.
Adam E. Lang is a seasoned litigator and trusted advisor whose practice spans the full spectrum of complex commercial disputes and strategic legal counsel. He is a co-chair of the firm’s Litigation, Investigations, and Trials Practice Group. Lang supports clients navigating high-stakes challenges across a range of industries including real estate development and commercial tenancies, financial, mortgage, and lending services, insurance, credit reporting agencies, professional services, and technology. Recognized by The Best Lawyers in America®, Southwest Super Lawyers®, and AZ Business Leaders Magazine, Lang is a top attorney in Arizona. He is deeply engaged in civic leadership, serving on the City of Phoenix Audit Committee, the Board of Directors for St. Joseph the Worker, and previously serving on the boards of the Arizona Coyotes Foundation, New Pathways for Youth, and the Arizona Association of Defense Counsel.
Jody K. Pokorski is the former Chair of the Real Property Section Council of the State Bar of Arizona and is nationally recognized in real estate law, with extensive experience in real estate transactions, finance and regulatory matters, including work relating to commercial purchase and sale transactions, real estate financing, master planned communities, subdivision matters, and leasing. She advises large and small corporate clients in real estate matters throughout the United States. Pokorski has consistently been recognized for excellence in real estate law and litigation, including being recently named among the Top Lawyers by Phoenix Magazine, listed in The Best Lawyers in America® for Real Estate Law and Real Estate Litigation, and being featured in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business® for Real Estate. She was an Adjunct Professor for the master’s Program of Real Estate in Development in the W.P. Carey College of Business at Arizona State University (ASU) and is a part of ASU Women and Philanthropy.
Patricia Lee Refo is the former President of the American Bar Association and is recognized nationally and internationally in complex commercial litigation and internal investigations, with extensive experience in professional malpractice defense, class actions, trade secret litigation, financial institutions litigation, and commercial and business torts. The National Law Journal named her one of the 50 Most Influential Women Lawyers in America. She is a sought-after speaker and author on litigation, civil procedure and evidence, access to justice, and innovations in the legal system. She was a member of the Advisory Committee on the Federal Rules of Evidence by appointment of Chief Justice William Rehnquist and was a member of the Advisory Committee on the Arizona Rules of Evidence. She currently serves on the Leaders Council of the Legal Services Corporation.
