Snell & Wilmer Attorney Jacob Valdez Elected to the Board of Directors for Children’s Museum of Phoenix
PHOENIX – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that attorney Jacob R. Valdez has been elected to the board of directors for the Children’s Museum of Phoenix.
The Children’s Museum of Phoenix is a nonprofit children’s museum located in the historic Monroe School building in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Designed for children from birth to age 10, the museum features more than 300 hands-on, interactive play and learning experiences across three floors, encouraging creativity, exploration, problem-solving, and family engagement through play-based learning. Its mission is “to engage the minds, muscles and imaginations of children and the grown-ups who care about them,” grounded in the belief that learning is a joy. The museum focuses on early childhood education and school readiness while providing programs and exhibits that support child development, strengthen family connections, foster positive social interaction, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.
“I am honored to join the Board and to contribute to a culturally rich organization whose mission and work have a meaningful impact on children and families. I look forward to serving alongside the Museum’s dedicated leaders and to support the Museum’s efforts to inspire learning, creativity, and connection through play,” said Valdez.
Valdez is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. He defends clients against a wide range of labor and employment claims, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Valdez also defends clients against claims for alleged violations of state and federal wage laws. In addition, Valdez advises clients regarding employee handbooks and policies, leave requests, and compliance with state and federal employment laws. In addition to his legal practice, Valdez is involved with multiple professional and community organizations throughout Arizona. Aside from serving on the IDEA Committee for the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, he is a member of SHRM of Greater Phoenix, and has previously served on the Board of Directors for the Lohse Family YMCA of Tucson.
