Snell & Wilmer Attorney Amit Ranade Selected as Lawyer Representative for the Ninth Circuit’s Western District of Washington
SEATTLE – Snell & Wilmer Partner Amit Ranade has been selected to a three-year term as a Lawyer Representative for the Ninth Circuit’s Western District of Washington beginning on January 1, 2026.
Lawyer Representatives play a significant role in the management of justice in the circuit. Approximately 168 Lawyer Representatives serve across 15 districts, and work to promote open communications between judges and attorneys. They also provide support and guidance in the functioning of the courts.
Ranade is an experienced bankruptcy and trial lawyer whose practice focuses on representing creditors, investors, committees, and trustees in complex insolvency matters, including plan confirmation, priority disputes, avoidance actions, and asset sales. He also handles a wide range of real estate and commercial litigation, advising owners, lenders, investors, and developers on condemnation, secured financing disputes, environmental claims, title issues, construction disputes, and land-use appeals.
Ranade serves as adjunct faculty at the University of Washington School of Law, teaching Bankruptcy Law and Article 9 – Secured Transactions. He is a Washington State Bar Association delegate to the ABA House of Delegates and was recently appointed to the King County Bar Association Board of Trustees. He also serves on the boards of the Seattle Parks Foundation and Evergreen Business Capital and previously held leadership roles including President of the University of Washington Alumni Association and Chair of both the Washington Public Disclosure Commission and the Seattle Parks Commission.
In addition, Ranade is a top lawyer in his field and is ranked as a Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business® in Bankruptcy/Restructuring, as well as a Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of Bankruptcy, Litigation and Real Estate Law.
