Snell & Wilmer Adds Leading Private Client Attorney Nancy Henderson and Associate Alex Winkle in San Diego
SAN DIEGO – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Nancy Henderson has joined the firm’s San Diego office as of counsel in the Private Client Services practice group. Henderson is a trusted advisor in estate planning and trust and probate law, counseling clients on complex estate, gift and income tax planning matters.
Henderson arrives from Henderson, Caverly & Pum, where she served as managing partner, chair of the Estate Planning group, and a member of the Trust Administration & Probate group. She is joined in the move by associate Alexander Winkle (“Alex”), who became part of Snell & Wilmer’s Private Client Services group in San Diego in January.
“Nancy is an exceptional estate planning attorney, and we’re delighted to welcome her, along with her talented team members, Alex Winkle and paralegal Theresa Delia, to the San Diego office,” said Steffi Hafen, managing partner of the San Diego office and co‑leader of the firm’s Private Client Services practice group. “Nancy’s extensive experience in estate planning, combined with the strengths her team brings, will add valuable perspective to our Private Client Services group. Nancy is widely recognized for her thoughtful counsel and depth of knowledge, and I am looking forward to working alongside her.”
Henderson focuses on complex estate planning and probate matters, including estate, gift, and income tax planning, drawing on decades of experience. She regularly advises clients on sophisticated planning and tax issues related to charitable giving, nonprofit and tax‑exempt organizations, high‑net‑worth estate planning, and fiduciary administration.
Winkle’s practice spans all aspects of estate planning, trust and probate administration, and associated tax matters. He counsels high net-worth clients who are subject to additional rules, regulations, intricacies, and scrutiny in the formation of an estate plan.
“Snell & Wilmer has an elite trusts and estates practice built on experience, technical skill, and an unwavering commitment to client service,” said Henderson. “It is a privilege to join a firm with such a strong reputation and experienced team of practitioners. I look forward to working alongside my new colleagues to support the continued excellence and continuity that clients have come to expect.”
Henderson is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and is a member of the California Lawyers Association (Taxation and Trusts and Estates Sections) and the San Diego County Bar Association (Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law Section and the Taxation Law Section). She previously served on the California State Bar Estate Planning Law Advisory Commission and as a member of the Executive Committee of the Taxation Section of the California State Bar.
Henderson earned her J.D. from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, and her B.A. from Duke University. Winkle earned his LL.M. in Taxation and J.D. from Loyola Law School, and his B.A. from Chapman University.
