Snell & Wilmer Advises Next Coast Ventures in $10M Series A Investment in AI Bookkeeping Platform Uplinq

Jun 03, 2025

SAN DIEGO – Snell & Wilmer represented client Next Coast Ventures, an Austin-based venture capital firm, in its lead investment in the $10 million Series A financing round of Uplinq, a Phoenix-based financial technology company offering AI-driven bookkeeping and tax solutions for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Additional participants in the round included AZ-VC, Live Oak Ventures, and existing investors.

This infusion of capital will enable Uplinq to enhance its AI capabilities, scale customer acquisition efforts, and strengthen its infrastructure to deliver seamless, automated financial management. Uplinq’s platform leverages intelligent AI agents to automate complex workflows across bookkeeping, tax compliance, and predictive insights—reducing manual tasks while increasing speed, accuracy, and scalability.

“Uplinq is transforming the way SMBs approach financial management,” said Thomas Ball, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Next Coast Ventures, in a recent press release. “Their innovative use of AI to automate bookkeeping and tax processes addresses a critical need in the market. We’re excited to support their journey as they scale and redefine industry standards.”

The Snell & Wilmer team advising Next Coast Ventures was led by Bardia Moayedi and Daniel McEvers Mahoney, with support from Sarah Hibbard and paralegal Scott Drake.
