Snell & Wilmer is seeking an International Trade Associate with a minimum of four years of experience to join the firm in its Special Litigation, Investigations, and Compliance practice group. This position is available at any of the firm’s offices.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience advising clients on the full range of international trade, export control, and economic sanctions matters. This includes experience with U.S. export controls under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) administered by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) administered by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC), and economic sanctions programs administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Experience with customs and import compliance matters, including tariff classification, valuation, country of origin, and trade preference programs, is highly desirable.
Preferred qualifications also include experience with trade remedy matters, such as antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings; cross-border transactions and due diligence involving international trade considerations; government investigations and enforcement defense; compliance program development, audits, and internal investigations; voluntary self-disclosures to regulatory agencies; and Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) filings and national security reviews.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience advising clients on matters involving natural resources development, environmental and regulatory compliance, and energy or infrastructure projects. Relevant experience may include oil and gas development, water law, environmental law, renewable energy projects such as solar and other alternative power generation, and infrastructure development supporting data centers or other energy-intensive facilities, and experience with development of state and federal public lands.
