Pat Fowler's practice concentrates on representing companies facing complex or high-stakes product liability, technology and business claims. He helps clients dealing with complex issues related to data privacy and security, internet/e-commerce claims and e-discovery issues. Pat counsels clients regarding compliance with many government regulations (e.g., FTC, DOD, SEC, FDA, CPSC, NHTSA, USCG) and industry standards and best practices. He represents companies dealing with product safety recalls and data breach investigations. Pat is the chair of Snell & Wilmer’s Privacy, Data Protection and Cyber Security practice area, as well as a senior member of the Product Liability practice. He also leads the firm's e-discovery and information governance committee.
Pat has a national practice, with state and/or federal court trials in Arizona, Washington, Nevada, Texas, Kansas, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, Louisiana, Kentucky, Georgia and Pennsylvania, and litigation in most of the rest of the country. In the last few years, he has taken to trial a number of catastrophic damage cases involving automobile air bag and seat belt defect claims, and boating accidents involving carbon monoxide exposure, drowning and propeller strike injuries.
Pat is proud to participate in the legal profession. He is currently a board member of the State Bar Section of Technology and e-Commerce, as well as a member of the executive committee for the State Bar of Arizona Standing Committee on Technology. Pat is also a Judge Pro Tempore with the Maricopa County Superior Court. For the past decade Pat has assisted with high school mock trial programs involving his children. Pat has also been involved with pro bono legal services. He is a past President of the Board of Directors of Community Legal Services, Inc., the largest non-profit pro bono legal services organization in Arizona. In addition, for more than 20 years he has served on the Advisory Committee of the Maricopa County Volunteer Lawyers Program.
