Steve Young protects the interests of banks making loans secured by real estate and other assets. He drafts loan documents and negotiates construction loans, acquisition and development loans and term loans. He represents lenders in loans secured by shopping centers, office buildings, and multi-family projects, including apartments, condominiums, student housing, and senior living facilities.
Before joining Snell & Wilmer, Steve arranged financing as a placement agent for a select group of the country's largest private companies. He was able to meet the investment needs of life insurance companies and other institutional investors while satisfying the financing needs of the companies he represented, successfully placing over $1.5 billion in debt securities.
Steve has the financial and legal understanding, from both the lender’s and borrower’s perspectives, to close even the most complex transactions. He understands that loan transactions are “win-win” propositions where both parties must be satisfied at closing in order to achieve their financial objectives.
Steve is active in the community and has served on several boads, including the Tucson Housing Trust Fund Community Advisory Committee and the Advisory Board of the University of Arizona's performing arts program, known as UA Presents.
Steve and his wife are patrons of the arts in Tucson, including the Fox Theatre Foundation and the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
