Katie A. Richardson

Associate| Orange County

Katie Richardson’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation in state and federal courts at all levels, including commercial, product liability, and constitutional cases. She has substantial appellate experience, having briefed numerous appeals before the Ninth Circuit, the California Courts of Appeal, and the California Supreme Court. She has also argued before the Ninth Circuit and the California Courts of Appeal. Having clerked for federal judges in both the Central District of California and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, Katie has unique insight into the federal judicial system that provides added benefit to her clients throughout the appellate process.

Katie also has significant experience at all stages of trial and has authored briefs in a variety of practice areas raising issues of first impression, as well as core constitutional and business issues. She is often sought after during the early stages of litigation to provide advice on and draft dispositive pre-trial and trial motions.

Katie is committed to public service and has worked on a number of pro bono matters, including prisoner civil rights appeals and a matter of first impression before the California Court of Appeal involving the admissibility of Parental Alienation Syndrome evidence in child custody cases. Katie is an active member of the ABA Council of Appellate Lawyers, the ABA Appellate Committee, and the Federal Bar Association.
