Douglas Farr is a commercial litigator who helps his clients with their legal problems so they can focus on generating revenue. He focuses on a broad range of industries, including real estate, financial services, insurance, and direct sales/multi-level marketing. Douglas's experience spans from representing creditors through the complexities of bankruptcy cases to litigating cases with legal issues involving secured transactions, judgment collections, water rights, construction defects, securities, partnership disputes, land use and zoning disputes, professional liability insurance coverage and bad faith issues, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Clean Water Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Douglas is a member of the Snell & Wilmer Attorney Development Committee.
Lead trial counsel in a five-day bench trial representing a lender in a dispute over post-foreclosure proceedings, involving a multi-million dollar judgment.
Argued motion to dismiss involving a Civil RICO action filed by a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy seeking damages in excess $10 million.
Represented a professional corporation against a more than $3 million fraudulent transfer/conveyance claim through summary judgment and settlement.
Defended a mining client against $100+ million in claims asserted by a competitor alleging civil conspiracy, conversion, and intentional interference with economic relations.
Defended over 100 defendants in pre- and post-judgment medical debt collection cases and pursued affirmative claims on behalf of multiple defendants against the medical debt collection company asserting violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
