Our Practice - What We Do
At Snell & Wilmer, our Public Finance practice is one of the most prominent and active in the West. For more than 35 years, we've served as counsel for bonds, notes, special taxes, underwriters, issuers, and trustees --- primarily in connection with tax-exempt general obligation and revenue bonds. Our involvement also covers lease-purchase/certificate of participation financings for states and their agencies, including representation for counties, cities and towns, school districts, industrial development authorities and other special purpose issuers.

Since 1970, Snell & Wilmer has served as bond counsel, special (tax) counsel and underwriters counsel for tax-exempt financings on behalf of the State of Arizona, its boards and agencies (such as, the Arizona Board of Regents, the Arizona Health Facilities Authority, the Arizona Department of Transportation and the Arizona Department of Administration), as well as counties, cities, schools and special districts, and for tax-exempt private activity bond issues, also known as industrial development bonds, aggregating hundreds of millions of dollars throughout our market area.

Our Experience - What We've Done
Our firm has over 30 years' experience in tax-exempt financing transactions, during which period we have acted as bond counsel, special (tax) counsel or underwriters’ counsel for issues aggregating more than $25 billion in Arizona, California, Utah and elsewhere, ranging from traditional public financings, such as general obligation bonds and water and sewer revenue bonds, to complex transactions, such as industrial development, multi-family housing, and various professional sports facilities.
