We also assist with the client response to the range of publicity which often accompanies significant litigation matters.Commercial Litigation attorneys and paralegals are located in all of our five offices, and many of our attorneys are admitted to practice law in multiple jurisdictions and courts. On the federal level, our Commercial Litigation attorneys have represented clients in United States District Courts throughout the country, in all of the U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeal, and in the U.S. Supreme Court. At the state level, our attorneys regularly appear before the trial and appellate courts of our home states of Arizona, California, Colorado and Utah. In addition, our attorneys have tried cases in state courts across the country. Snell & Wilmer's Commercial Litigation attorneys are admitted to practice law in a total of states. We are acknowledged by our peers in both the legal and judicial communities. The Arizona Civil Rules Handbook, the leading treatise on Arizona civil procedure, was authored by one of the Commercial Litigation partners. John J. Bouma, Snell & Wilmer's chairman and a commercial litigator, is the only Arizona attorney ever named to the National Law Journal's list of the 100 Most Influential Attorneys in the United States. Our attorneys are frequently featured in local and national publications on litigation-related topics, and regularly speak on panels at legal education and professional development seminars across the country and internationally. We serve as faculty on national and regional trial practice training programs, and have been retained by other law firms to teach in-house trial training programs. As a result, many of our attorneys enjoy a national reputation. Members of our practice area also make substantial contributions to the organized bar. Among our partners are two former presidents of the Maricopa County Bar Association, a former president of the State Bar of Arizona and the Western States Bar Conference, a member of the American Bar Association Board of Governors, three current or former members of the ABA House of Delegates, and one partner who will assume the Presidency of the California Academy of Appellate Attorneys in May 2001. Our attorneys have been active in the arts, including a president of the Arizona Opera, a member of the Board of Directors of the Utah Opera Company, a president of the Heard Museum (Phoenix), a president of the Phoenix Art Museum, a member of the Board of Directors of the Phoenix Men's Art Council, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Hanson Planetarium (Salt Lake City). - Anchor Gaming on the approval by the National Indian Gaming Commission of a management contract for the operation of a California tribal casino
- First Data Corporation, and its subsidiaries, on regulatory issues concerning the provision of ATM services, check cashing/guarantee services, and wire transfers to tribal casinos throughout the U.S.
