Select 2007 Transactions The Business and Finance team brings numerous assets to the table, but none is more important to our clients than experience. For example, our Mergers and Acquisitions practice is exceptionally diverse, includes virtually every significant regulated and unregulated industry in the country and handles transactions ranging in size from a few million dollars to several hundred million dollars. It is this competent, professional legal representation that gives our clients the confidence they need to succeed.The following is a list of transactions recently handled by attorneys in the Business and Finance team:
- Acquirer’s counsel in the $425 million acquisition of all of the outstanding stock of Arizona’s third largest financial institution
- Issuer’s counsel to a high-tech company in the issuance of approximately $180 million of common stock, Arizona’s largest initial public offering to date
- Investor’s counsel to a venture capital firm in its purchase of a significant interest in a partnership that owns the Phoenix Suns (NBA) basketball franchise
- Registrant’s counsel in what became the first publicly registered securitization of automobile loans in the U.S., which involved the issuance of more than $100 million of asset passthrough certificates representing securitization
- Restructuring of Arizona’s largest public utility into a holding company and three separate first-tier operating subsidiaries
- Sale of $115 million of hospital revenue bonds to construct the new Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, Arizona
