Our Practice - What We Do
Providing a full range of aviation-related legal counsel and services, our practice in this highly specialized area involves critical issues related to policies and procedures, ownership and operation, compliance regulations and other important matters.

We assist in structuring corporate aircraft purchase and ownership programs; developing aircraft operating procedures under Part 91 and Part 135; establishing aircraft charter operations; preparing and filing FAA documents for aircraft certification as well as operations under Part 135; developing flight department policies and procedures, and addressing compliance with FAA and IRS regulations. In addition, we represent clients in aircraft accident claims and we provide general advice on establishment of corporate flight departments, aircraft leasing and ownership structure, and Federal Excise Tax issues.

Our aviation law team consists of highly knowledgeable attorneys who are experienced in the unique legal issues facing aircraft owners and operators, as well as clients involved in airport-related services and operations. Our attorneys provide practical, "hands-on" advice and counsel, utilizing a solutions-oriented approach that has built long-term relationships with a wide variety of clients in the aviation industry.

Snell & Wilmer attorneys are active in aviation industry organizations, including the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and other aircraft and airport associations. In addition, we are regularly involved in aviation-related seminars and meetings, and often serve as guest speakers or panel moderators. Our attorneys also possess a first-hand understanding of aviation issues, with years of commercial pilot experience and active operator licenses for single- and multi-engine aircraft.
