Steve McHolm's practice is concentrated in real estate and commercial finance with emphasis in commercial, industrial, multi-family and retail real estate acquisitions and sales, construction, commercial, industrial and retail leasing of existing or to be built projects, and development of all types of commercial, industrial and retail projects. He also has extensive experience in residential projects representing developers, builders and contractors.
Steve is often involved in projects from the time acquisition of land, through the planning and construction phases, to leasing or sale. The early work may involve structuring relationships with various parties involved in project development, such as development management agreements, profit participations, and various entity formations. During the development or later ownership of the property, Steve often counsels client on various methods of dealing with shared responsibilities in multi-owner business parks, industrial developments or shopping centers, and then drafts the appropriate management documents of all types for projects with common areas, required maintenance of landscaping, private roads, parking, signage or other amenities, or specialized documents and instruments for drainage systems for either on-site containment, or flow to public facilities. Steve has counseled both owners and tenants in landlord tenant matters that arise during lease terms, as well.
His clients include developers, institutional investors, corporations, and various lending institutions, dealing with both their own real estate needs, as well as REO.
