Monica Michelizzi concentrates her practice in real estate transactions, public finance and government relations.  Her experience includes representing both public and private entities in public/private partnership financing plans, such as municipal development agreements, economic incentive agreements, GPLET agreements, redevelopment projects, and tax-exempt financing transactions.  Monica has represented both lenders and borrowers in the structuring and administration of tax-exempt financing transactions.  Her real estate practice includes mixed-use, commercial, and residential development transactions, real estate purchase and sale transactions, development of master planned communities, lease transactions, and development at general aviation airports.

  • Represented a resort developer in structuring a public/private partnership, utilizing municipal development agreements, GPLET, and an Arizona community facilities district to finance infrastructure and other costs associated with a major new resort
  • Served as bond counsel and borrower’s counsel on the issuance of approximately $50 million of bonds to be used as conduit financing for the development of a new manufacturing plant
  • Represented a municipality in an approximately $21 million redevelopment of 1960s-era bank building (with GPLET abatement)
  • Represented a municipality in the structuring of approximately $80 million in economic incentives for the development of a major shopping center and improvements to public infrastructure
