Jonathan Saffer's practice is concentrated in bankruptcy, creditor's rights, business reorganization, and commercial litigation. He has significant experience in representing local and national lending institutions, commercial loan servicers, trustees and business debtors in a variety of forums, including bankruptcy and state court receivership proceedings. Jon has extensive experience in state court receiverships and foreclosure proceedings, including real estate, commercial, industrial and multi-family developments, and has represented creditors in all phases of bankruptcy litigation, including lift stay, valuation, and contested confirmation proceedings. Among his more notable recent engagements, Jon has represented a national servicer in securing a receivership order over $150 million multi-family property portfolio, and has served as lead trustee's counsel in the liquidation of one of the nation's largest privately held mortgage banking companies.
Jon's extensive experience allows him to efficiently and effectively help clients achieve goals in litigation and workout scenarios. He has an excellent record in helping creditors obtain prompt relief in receivership and lift stay proceedings, and in avoiding extended and costly engagements in bankruptcy. Jon has an excellent record in not only securing and liquidating collateral through litigation, but also in securing beneficial resolutions for his clients through settlement.
From 2004 through 2008, Jon served as an adjunct professor at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law and instructed students in trial practice and bankruptcy litigation. He is an active member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and frequent speaker and presenter at western bankruptcy forums.
