David Thatcher’s practice focuses on a broad range of corporate transactions, including public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate-related transactions (including acquisitions and dispositions and real estate-related financing transactions), public and private offerings of equity and debt, secured and unsecured bank financings, general corporate representation and technology transactions.

His clients include public as well as private companies in a variety of industries including real estate, biotech, banking and technology.

David was the Business Editor of the Denver University Law Review and was a member of the Order of St. Ives in law school.

  • Represented UDR, Inc. in connection with the purchase and Sharia compliant financing of a property in the Washington, DC, area purchased by the joint venture (2010)
  • Represented UDR, Inc. in connection with a joint venture with a large Kuwaiti bank to invest up to $450 million in multifamily properties located in key, high barrier markets (2009)
  • Represented UDR, Inc. in connection with sale of 86 multifamily properties located in 11 states for an aggregate sales price of approximately $1.7 billion (2008)
  • Represented a Denver-based specialty finance company in connection with a merger into a private equity fund (2005)
  • Represented a U.S. biotech company in connection with a public-public merger into a Canadian company for stock and cash (2004)
