Snell & Wilmer is a full service law firm founded in Phoenix, Arizona in 1938. Today, with more than 400 attorneys and six offices, we are the largest firm in Arizona and one of the largest in the West. Our Arizona offices are in Phoenix and Tucson, our California office is in Orange County, our Utah office is in Salt Lake City, our Colorado office is in Denver, and our most recently established office is in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Our clients range from large, multinational Fortune 500 companies and principal regional companies to small businesses and individuals. A few of our larger clients are Apollo Group, Inc., Arizona Public Service Company, Bank of America, Chase Bank, Evans & Sutherland, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, Mayo Clinic, Mercury Marine, Prudential, Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and the Tucson Airport Authority. However, many of the firm's attorneys devote the bulk of their practice to counseling small, emerging businesses and entrepreneurs, and the firm has taken a leadership position in promoting them.

Recent Awards
We are grateful that the firm's service to our clients and to the communities in which we practice has often been recognized. Corporate Board Member magazine named Snell & Wilmer the best law firm to do business with in Phoenix since its inception in 2002, based on a survey of 52,000 directors and corporate counsel of publicly held companies. Also, in 2003, the Better Business Bureau of Central/Northern Arizona named Snell & Wilmer winner of the 2003 BBB Business Ethics Awards, which recognizes organizations for demonstrating high standards of ethical conduct and practices, both internally and externally.
Snell & Wilmer was also the first law firm in the nation to receive a Best Practices Award, winning the 1998 Arizona Best Practices AwardSM for Distinguished Achievement in Exceeding Customer Expectations and again in 1999 for Outstanding Achievement in Motivating and Retaining Employees. Many of our attorneys have been named in The Best Lawyers in America ® by Woodward / White, Inc. since the inception of that publication in 1983, and in the current volume. With our long history of dedication to the delivery of legal services to the poor, the firm has been repeatedly honored for its leadership role in pro bono activities and community service by receiving the "Justice in America Award" from the Network of Trial Law Firms. In 1999, the firm was the first professional group to receive the Governor's Arts Award (business category), for assembling, displaying and touring what is recognized as the nation's premier collection of the work of Arizona photographers, for our Tucson office's leadership in restoring the important Spanish Colonial Mission at San Xavier, for our significant role in the drafting and passage of recent, innovative arts legislation, for establishing the first corporate fellowship with the State Arts Commission, and for seven of our partners recently having served as presidents of the board of trustees of greater Phoenix's seven major cultural institutions.
